Chevy Chase Family Portrait Photographer :: Giggles and Smiles

I’ve been photographing Gilda, Brian and their family for about 8 years now.  This portrait session took place in their home in Chevy Chase.  Every session is full of giggles and smiles and this session was no exception.Chevy Chase Family Portrait PhotographerChevy Chase Family Portrait PhotographerChevy Chase Family Portrait PhotographerChevy Chase Family Portrait PhotographerChevy Chase Family Portrait PhotographerChevy Chase Family Portrait PhotographerChevy Chase Family Portrait PhotographerChevy Chase Family Portrait Photographer

Washington DC Wedding Photographer :: A Tabard Inn Wedding

Chris and Julie were married in a lovely ceremony at Congregation Beth El in Bethesda on a cold and windy Sunday morning in February.

Since Chris and Julie love brunch, they planned a wonderful brunch reception at the Tabard Inn in Washington, DC.  I adore the Tabard Inn.  It is a small hotel on a quiet street just blocks from the heart of the city.  The hotel is comprised of two buildings that were built originally as private residences between 1880-1900.   It’s cozy and eclectic and they have one of the best brunches in DC.  It was the perfect spot for Chris and Julie’s intimate Sunday Brunch reception. And I must mention – the donuts are to die for!

Chris and Julie chose Georgetown Cupcake in lieu of a traditional cake cutting, topped with stunning birds from Lisa Leonard Designs (who also provided custom forks and the sweet flower charm).

To commemorate Julie’s time living in St. Louis, the favors were Gooey Louie Butter Cakes (which are freakishly good!) wrapped in a box, with a custom label designed by Julie.

We attempted to brave the cold and windy weather and headed down to the Jefferson Monument as planned.  We managed a few shots before calling it a day and heading back to the warmth of the Tabard Inn where we finished up the couples portraits.

Special thanks to Chris Williams of Zoeica Images for photographing this wedding with me.  It was truly a collaborative effort.  I absolutely love this last image he photographed. I think it was the last image of the day.

Chevy Chase Family Portrait Photographer :: Fun At Home

I love shooting families in their homes. There are of course many fabulous locations in the DC area, but there is nothing like being able to capture a family in their home. Kids are relaxed and that means Mom and Dad are too!

This was a fun family session in Chevy Chase with 3 fun and silly girls.  I had a great time!

Washington DC Portrait Photographer :: An Operation Love ReUnited Couple

I think it is important for businesses to give back to their communities and one of the things I do is donate my time and photography skills to military families through Operation Love ReUnited. Through OpLove, I provide military families with photography sessions either before their loved one deploys with a portrait session or by documenting the homecoming when the deployment ends. I have photographed many wonderful families over the past 5 years through OpLove.  It is one of my greatest joys as a photographer.  The homecomings are amazing and touching.  I am often touched by the grace and courage of the spouse who stays at home, caring for children and the homefront.  Military families sacrifice so much so their loved one can go and defend our country.  I am so grateful for the service and the sacrifice.

It was such a pleasure to meet Joy and Philip last weekend for a pre-deployment portrait session.  We met in the Senate Gardens on the Senate side of the Capitol and then wandered a bit to the West Lawn.  Such a gorgeous couple and location made for some stunning images!

Washington DC Photographer :: A Cherry Blossom Maternity

Washington DC Cherry Blossom Maternity

A beautiful mother-to-be.  Her handsome husband.  An adorable, attention loving dog.  Cherry blossoms, the Tidal Basin and sunrise.  All of the ingredients for a wonderful portrait session last week.  It was such pleasure to photograph Erica and Derek’s maternity session near at the Tidal Basin near the FDR Memorial.  And Jimi might be the cutest little dog I’ve met in a while (shhh… don’t tell my pooch!).  I laughed so hard when he took off after a squirrel since they are nearly the same size!  Hopefully Jimi will be a good big brother to Erica & Derek’s newest addition when she arrives.
